What is a Senior Real Estate Specialist?

A Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) is a REALTOR® who is uniquely qualified to assist seniors in housing sales and purchases.

The SRES® designation is awarded only to REALTORS® who have additional education regarding helping seniors and their families with later-in-life real estate transactions.

The mission of a SRES® is to help seniors and their families navigate the maze of financial, legal and emotional issues that accompany the sale of a home.

Joni McCreith

Meet your SRES®.

Joni McCreith, Principal Broker

Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself! Real estate has been my career for 20 years now, and I’ve been involved in hundreds of purchases and sales.

In my work with senior clients, I have helped some sell houses that have been their home for decades and others to sell complex rural properties that have been in their family for generations.

I promise to work hard for you. I have the needed knowledge, training, and experience, and it would be my joy to help you move forward toward enjoying the things in life that matter most.

Selling Your Home.

With 20 years of experience in the industry, I understand the decision to move can be difficult. You can count on me to help guide you through the process and the special considerations, making the home selling process less stressful and more successful.

I have the experience and knowledge to navigate the process with compassion and efficiency. I'll work closely with you to ensure that every aspect of the sale is handled smoothly, from preparing the home for showings to negotiating the best possible price.

Putting you first, every step of the way.

Housing Options

Making the decision to move can be difficult. Choosing housing that meets your family’s current needs, and anticipates future needs, can be a challenge. Further, it can require a significant financial investment depending on the level of care desired.

As your SRES®, I can familiarize you with the various types of senior housing available in your area, and refer you to other professionals who can help you understand and compare the true costs of each option, determine which options are affordable based on your financial situation, and examine the legal contracts involved in the process.

Types of Senior Housing:

Retirement Community

Retirement communities are usually comprised of single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums, and in some cases senior apartments.  They are usually designed for older adults who are physically able to care for themselves.
