If you caught Amy’s first guide to her favorite Beaverton-area Christmas tree farms, consider this your Part Two. Yamhill County is the center of agritourism in Oregon, with tasting rooms welcoming you to our stunning vineyards year-round. Christmastime shifts us from the rows and rows of grapes to the rows and rows of firs and nobles ready for you to select just the right one. And each town has something to offer, from Santa parades to holiday markets to tree lighting ceremonies. Give us all the small town charm and nostalgia.

Without further adieu, here are Catherine’s five favorite Yamhill County tree farms to explore:

SLEEPY HOLLOW TREE FARM - MCMINNVILLE

Sleepy Hollow is one of those places that reminds you why people fall in love with Yamhill County in the first place. It’s quiet, simple, and a little tucked away, perfect if you want a calm, choose-and-cut experience without the crowds. It’s a good stop if someone wants the classic “Oregon tree hunt” without the hustle, just double-check varieties ahead of time so you know what’s available when you go. For 2025, they’ve opened last November 23, and then again Thanksgiving weekend and the first weekend of December, always from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fox Ridge has that familiar, family-run feel. They open every Saturday and Sunday from Thanksgiving weekend through the season, usually 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and it’s an great stop if you want options. They grow Douglas, Noble, Grand, and Nordmann firs, so you’re almost guaranteed to find something that fits the room you’re decorating.

OAK HILL FAMILY TREE FARM - YAMHILL

8510 OR-240, Yamhill, OR 97148

Oak Hill is the big, festive stop in this part of the county, the one families often make a tradition out of. They’re opening for the 2025 season on Friday, November 28, with early appointments available earlier that same week for anyone who likes to beat the crowds. The Christmas shop on site is always a draw, with wreaths, garlands, and little holiday extras to delight. They grow several fir varieties, including Fraser and Nordmann, so the selection stays strong even later in the season.

NORLAIN ACRES - NEWBERG

20000 SW Hillsboro Hwy, Newberg, OR 97132

Norlain Acres is the quieter pick on this list, a small farm in Newberg that keeps things simple and local. They may not post as much online for 2025, so a quick call ahead is always the smart move, but the appeal here is that it isn’t a high-traffic spot. If you’re looking for something low-key, or you’re working with folks who like to support smaller family operations, this is a solid option. Expect a modest setup, friendly owners, and a slower pace that fits the rural edges of Yamhill County. It’s the kind of place you stop when you want a tree without the extra fanfare.

YESTERYEAR FARMS - WILLSONVILLE

Though not in Yamhill County proper, Yesteryear Farms in Wilsonville is not to be missed. It's close, and it's a seasonal favorite. The farm transforms for the holidays, and starting November 13 it launches its Christmas season, operating daily from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering pre-cut trees, fresh wreaths, garlands, a holiday-themed market with local goods, and a festive winter ambiance.

On weekends they often host rotating food trucks serving everything from pizza and churros to kettle corn and cider. It’s an easy, family-friendly outing year-round that combines classic farm charm with good food, seasonal fun, and plenty of photo-ops.

If you head out to any of these farms this season, make a day of it. Yamhill County has plenty to offer, so stop on Third Street to get lunch and do some shopping. This area is so incredibly wonderful, and this season brings out something special in each town and around the countryside.
